Great laser prints for the money
I had read a so-so review for this printer online so my expectations were low when it arrived. But when I printed the color demo sheet after setting the printer up, my doubts vanished. It prints color very well and the text is sharp and clear.

I also use an Epson all-in-one ink-jet printer in my home office, and the Brother laser printer is definitely a better printer. However, it isn't always tremendously better; unless you were holding print samples from both printers in each hand to compare them, you might not notice the difference when printing text-heavy or grayscale pages.

I'm a graphic designer and illustrator, so having that extra bit of quality is important to me. If you're just printing black-and-white text all the time, however, a less-expensive multifunction ink jet with a scanner included might be the way to go.

The cartridges for this Brother printer are pricey, but that comes with laser printers from all manufacturers. All in all, I'm happy with this printer.

HERE'S HOW TO FIX THE TONER "OUT" PROBLEM
Read the other reviews for details about this printer.

My problem is that I printed a few hundred pages and then the printer reported IT WAS OUT OF TONER. WTF? The "starter" toner was supposed to be at least a few thousand pages.

I made the mistake of buying a new black toner cartridge. Then after it printed a few pages, it said the magenta cartridge was out of toner! I was trying to print black! This printer has a serious problem of not knowing when or if the toner cartidges is either out of, or completely full of toner.

After I found this trick, I got another 1,000 pages out of that "empty" toner cartridge.

Here's how to fix the problem (quoted from someone else but it really works... you can Google this problem and it will say to put electical tape on the sensor, but that does NOT NOT NOT work with this printer. Only this will work):

Toner Reset Menu for Brother HL3070:

1. Open Cover where you access toner cartridges

2. Press CANCEL & SECURE PRINT buttons at one time and you'll see the toner menus on screen

3. Press + or - to navigate through to the toners you need to reset. Hit "Y" to reset the toner. Scroll through and repeat for each toner color as necessary.

4. Hit OK button when prompted.

Reset menu for the durable parts counters:

1. Open cover where you access toners

2. Press GO and + button at once, you'll see menu come up displaying reset counters for drum, fuser, etc.

Brother SUCKS for trying to make you buy a new toner cartridge when there is absolutely nothing wrong with the one you have. And then trying to hide this information from you. I won't buy from this manufacturer EVER AGAIN.

a little disappointed
Frankly I am a little disappointed with the printer. I did a lot of research and thought I had found the right one. It was rated a top performer. As long as you are using regular paper it does fine but I wanted a lazer printer so my ink wouldn't run. I like doing alot of diferent projects that require a lot of different papers. This printer has an opening in the front where you are suppose to insert the special paper and it barely works you have to mess with it alot to

get it to suck the paper in and as for trying to print on the back side of a piece of paper that has already run through the machine FORGET IT! I also am having a hard time finding specialty papers for it. I ended up having to by lazer photo paper on line because no one carries it in the stores.

Very, very good printer
I purchased this for the home office. It was extremely easy to set up. The wireless convenience is amazing, especially with two laptops roaming around. It prints fast enough and the color and quality is impressive.

Great Color Printer for the Home
I have been looking to replace my HP Photosmart inkjet printer for a couple years now. Although I enjoyed the photo capabilities of the inkjet, it just didn't do it when I needed important black & white copies or color copies of my excel financial workbooks. I wanted a color laser printer but not at the expensive business prices plus it had to be wireless, network ready, & both Mac & PC friendly. Until I saw this Brother printer, no home color laser met all those requirements.

I was a bit apprehensive with this purchase since I had always owned HP printers & respect their reliability. But I have been using the Brother printer for over a month. It has far exceeded my expectations! Once I got rid of the cheap inkjet paper & replaced it with higher quality laser paper, the print jobs really shined. It is both a joy to print out my work financial statements in color and print jobs for every day use. I recently printed out my tax returns & enjoyed the laser black & white capabilities sorely missed with the inkjet.

This is the perfect printer for a home office. It is built like a small tank too (nothing cheap about the quality). Although I was a bit put off having to buy four print cartridges (at $40-$50 each), after shopping online I found some good buys. Plus, the output is more than double from anything you get from inkjet cartridges. The only thing it can't do are photos. But, I kept my HP inkjet for those jobs. I highly recommend this color laser printer (btw, Brother calls it digital color LED print technology).

Solid, reliable, compatible printer
I bought this printer to replace a Canon multi-function laser, mostly for my wife. So far, it has proven to be a reliable workhorse. While the Canon would require a reset (power cycle) on every 3rd or 4th print job, this HP has never yet needed a reset. The same types of print jobs were being handled by each printer - MS Office docs, PDF files, and Web pages, for the most part, along with occasional check from QuickBooks. The Canon would have a problem anytime the print area of a doc exceeded the printer's capabilities (e.g., less than 1/2 inch margins). The HP takes those kinds of challenges in stride. No one makes better Windows print drivers than HP. Since the Canon was connected to our wireless network through a print server, troubleshooting was always complicated. With the HP connected directly to the wired network, not only does it start printing faster, but it has yet to lose a print job. As the lead tech support specialist for my house, I truly appreciate how resilient this printer is in dealing with whatever is sent to it, as well as how reliably it prints. It has made my life quite a bit simpler. My wife has come to me and said, "Have I told you how much I love this printer?" Setup was a breeze and was completed in 10 minutes on multiple computers. I've found (and ordered on Amazon) replacement knock-off cartridges for about $25, so consumable costs are low. As has been noted in other reviews, the printer is loud when operating (especially the first page - which prints incredibly fast), but goes back to sleep in 30 seconds or so. I've solved the noise problem by locating the printer in a credenza with doors. The sleep feature is great, since it feels like it uses less power than the Canon. If you are looking for a super-compatible, networked laser printer, you can't go wrong with the P2035N.

Good printer thus far.
Solid, dependable printer thus far :) No qualms about performance speed or print quality. Yield from even the starter cartridge seems to be good.

P2035 lazer printer
I must admit I just love this printer. some other said it was very noisy and it is while printing put gets quite a few seconds after last page out.if you want a printer with less noise than get a 2 page per minute printer but for a printer that spits out paper as this one expect some noise. I would recommend this printer highly

Gotta love it!
This printer replaces a HP 2100M that doesn't work well with the newer computers without those humongous parallel/serial port cables. I have always loved the trouble-free service the 2100 has given me and will some day figure out how to make my 2100 "play well' with the more modern computers.

The P2035N was a snap to set up even though the directions supplied were at best minimal. The easy to follow directions were on the supplied CD, though, so I had it up and running in about 20 minutes. Most people have said how loud this printer is, and won't disagree. However, several have said it has a quiet mode which cuts the decibles to about half and only slows down the printing minimally.

I found it quite easy to network all my home computers to this printer. I thought it would be a magicical, mystical experience but it took a bit of thinking on my part. I used the install disk on each computer I wanted to network and they all printed to it with no difficulty at all. I'm not a networking genius but it worked perfectly, the first time.

Print quality is excellent! Very crisp and very fast. I like the fact the paper tray holds about 250 sheets. I don't expect to have to refill it often. I was told mine has a 'starter' cartridge that will print maybe 800 copies. I did some shopping online and ordered a replacement, compatible with this printer, for just $35. An OEM HP cartridge is about $90, so it was a no brainer what to order. Since a regular cartridge will print over 3000 pages, I figure it's a big savings over the cost of ink for a regular ink jet printer. Ink jet copy smears while laser doesn't- a definate plus for me.

Since I've always had exceptional luck with HP products, I don't hesitate in recommending this printer. There's a nice discount at some office supply stores plus HP has a promotion of an additional $50 off if you return any printer when buing this one. So, the price is great, the printer works beautifully, and life is good. Drop what you're doing and get one of these just as soon as you can!

Is there a jet engine at my desk?
Wow, it's pretty loud. Also, the first page comes out speedy-fast, and every additional page comes out after about a 12-second delay. It can get a little frustrating waiting for pages 2+.

Quality of the print is good.

My only other issue has been with the toner - I've replaced it twice in four months, with only light to moderate printing use, and three days after a brand new replacement, the toner light is back on. I have a call into the company, it may be faulty.

Speaker Phone
This unit works extremely well as a speaker phone in a law firm conference room. No complaints.

Traditional phone
Good phone, good quality, but if you are thinking to use it as a voip terminal, you have to buy other parts to make it work.

Average product, crap customer service
We have had this phone for roughly two years, and when it works, it works fairly well... but, the phone would constantly drop its registration and as of recently it will no longer register. Software updates don't work (and are only supported via Windows, hello... 2010!). I called technical support for our $[...] phone and they said that I could pay for assisted troubleshooting and then pay more if a repair was needed... crap service for such a pricey product. Won't buy Polycom ever again.

Polycom SoundStation2 Positive Review
Polycom SoundStation2 lives up to its advertising. It's easy to use and the sound quality and range are excellent. The product performs above expectations.

great clarity
I bought this product about a month ago. Our conference room is small and we usually connect with people all over the world. So we needed something that would give us a clear conversation without having to repeat ourselves all the time as well as being able to hear our colleagues from all parts of the world clearly. This did a great job! Our colleagues noticed the change without us letting them know that we were using a new device. They came through clearer and the background noise was eliminated. Our conversations went smoothly. We do not have to repeat our selves so the other person can hear us clearly, it was heard the first time. Set up was a breeze. The instructions were right there in three steps.

GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!
Easy to use, great quality. It's a work horse, fast scans good quality and with the right software you can do anything with the scans.

Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Easy to use and excellent for scanning pictures
I've had this product for a few months now and could not be more pleased with it. I have used it for its main purpose - to scan in documents, business cards, receipts, etc- and it is an excellent little machine and very simple to use. It does duplex scanning (both sides of the paper at once), the software includes handwriting recognition and converts it into type (OCR) and also includes a Carrier sheet for scanning pictures.

What I am finding it most useful for, though, is for scanning in our many hundreds of family pictures that we have from before the arrival of digital cameras. Surviving only in hard copy (and most of them without negatives) it is finally easy to scan, email and share these pictures. I had tried using a flatbed scanner but it was tedious and time consuming. With this machine I can put all the pictures from an album into a neat little pile on the feeder and the machine scans them very very quickly. The owner's guide recommends using the Carrier sheet for scanning pictures but I have scanned hundreds without it and have not seen any signs of damage to the machine or to the pictures. I'm using Picasa to sort and load the pictures onto my computer and this part of the process does take a fairly long time. However, this may be an issue with Picasa and not the machine itself. The quality of the pictures is excellent even when I enlarge the pictures or zoom in.

Another thing I like about the machine is its small size. I currently have it set up on a closed cabinet in a book shelf. I open up the cabinet when I'm working and simply shut the doors when I am not.

The only downside I can think of is that the user's guide was not included in a hard copy form. I like to have a manual to flip through when looking for information but that may be since I am used to the old days of working from books. If you have no problem with going to the user's guide on your desktop, then this should not be an issue. Also, since it is fairly simple to use I only had to refer to the user's guide a few times.

So this is a handy little machine for home or office use and I very highly recommend it.

Excellent Product
Scanner is well built and does everthing that I expected it to do. I thought that the scanner was easy to install. I used the scanner with Paperport vers: 12 and had not problems with the scanner being recognized.

Best, fast, reliable Scanner
I am grateful to AMAZON staffs who sent me this free delivery,

reasonable priced Scanner to me last week. I owned a HP Scanjet

N6010 before, and it almost never worked right.

Since last week, I have been using Epson Workforce

Pro GT S50 daily. I am a Commercial loan and real estate broker.

I would need to use this scanner daily and for more than

hundreds pages a day. This Scanner is the best in my experince.

It's fast, very reliable, quality of scnning is may be one of the

best in the industry.

The sofware (paperport and Epson)it came with this scanner working very nicely.

I would strongly recommend this scanner to anyone.

Thank you Amazon and Epson!

Excellent Duplex Document Scanner for SOHO Use
My Epson GT-S50 is exactly what I wanted. I use Docsvault Professional to scan in documents to PDF in my laptop. The GT-S50 makes it quick and easy to scan large documents of any size. For example, I scanned a two-sided insurance policy of 80 pages in minutes directly into Docsvault. I can also scan using CutePDF Professional if I don't want to scan into the Docsvault respository. Their software can de-skew crooked pages. I particularly like that the software will recognize blank pages (with less than 2% ink coverage which is adjustable) and skip them. Only downsides: No flatbed, so I can't scan pages from periodicals and books. But for that, I have my old Brother MFP. The scanner is USB-only; I would have liked to see an Ethernet port, or even a wireless adapter built in. Still, I would highly recommend this scanner for moderate duplex B&W or color document scanning. For it's intended purpose, it works very well.

Excellent small office printer
I got this as a replacement for an 18 month old Dell printer which failed and was told by Dell it was not worth repairing. My previous HP Laserjet III had lasted 6 years. This printer was easy to set up, is fast, economical with toner and trouble free so far. Having read many reviews I chose this HP over a similar one that is $100 cheaper and had poor reviews on quality. Worth paying a little more for this one. Best use is low - medium volume, small office / home office.

Works Fine on Mac
I've had this printer over two months and so far no problems. Satisfied with print quality and more importantly got away from being hosed with ink. As a former CEO once said, "We are not a printer company but sell ink." I am tired of getting hosed by HP and now again if the former CEO becomes gov of CA. Folks, look at TCO (total cost of ownership) and generally laser is cheaper. If you don't like this one look at another. However, satisfied and haven't found the noise or quallity problems others reported. One negative, sometimes it takes close to 3 minutes to start printing even with a full upgrade in memory.

Good quality, very easy setup
I bought this printer to replace a similar HP printer (LaserJet 2100M) whose paper transport had become unreliable. My experience with this one has been good and generally consistent with the majority of other reviews here. Based on what I read, I was prepared for a noisy device, but I have been pleasantly surprised. The printer is indeed noisy when initially powered on, but that lasts about 10 seconds, after which the noise level decreases to a low whirr for another 20-30 seconds, followed by complete silence until it is used. The noise level naturally increases when it is actively printing, but the level seems no worse that that of any other home printers I've used that print at the same speed. Some reviewers report having to turn on Quiet Mode, which reduces printing speed. I didn't find that necessary; the default behavior (Quiet Mode off) was fine. Of course, some people are more sensitive to noise than others, and the environment in which the printer is being used is a factor, too.

The physical setup and installation instructions are comprehensive and flawless. I especially like the animations showing how to remove hidden pieces of packing material, which I might not otherwise have gotten right. The configuration process is also very clear (I'm using the network interface, not USB) and worked without a hitch. Well done, HP.

If you plan to use this printer for straight-through printing, be aware that the paper comes straight out of the back, meaning that you must leave sufficient space behind it. To activate th straight-through paper path you simply open a door at the rear within a larger panel that also opens (for clearing jams). It's important to get this right, and while the documentation is explicit, the warning is easy to overlook, and it's easy to make a mistake in practice. Finally, there is no bin to catch the paper coming out the back, so you have to make other provisions. Of course, none of this is relevant for the normal printing path, which deposits the paper in the main output bin on top.

Overall, a very satisfactory printer for my home office.

Great product - even greater customer support (surprisingly)!
Chose to buy this printer for the following reasons: (1) Tired of replacing inkjet cartridges (2) Built in networking (3) Automatic duplex printing to save paper and (4) Didn't care for color (since 90% of the time, we manually adjust print jobs to do B/W anyways) - not to mention replacing ink/toner is ALOT cheaper!

Product was extremely easy to install and set up. Was worried about the noise level after reading reviews, but after having used it for myself, noise level does not bother me since it is completely silent on ready/standby and we'd choose quicker noisier printing over slower quieter printing any day. We were quite happy with our purchase for the first several print jobs - the problem came after we tried to manually feed an envelope. Every time we tried to print afterwards, we'd get an error saying to clear a jam on tray 2. Obviously, we knew that there wasn't a jam because the envelope got printed (quite well, btw) and there were no jams prior to that (we checked anyway).

So we called HP support with the mindset that we'd probably have to return the product for refund/exchange since we don't have very high expectations of customer support to begin with. The first surprise was that we got a hold of a real person within probably a minute at most. The rep went through the usual troubleshooting procedures that you might expect, but found nothing interesting. Then after placing me on hold for about 5 minutes, he came back and asked me to try and follow some instructions to remove the main roller from the top of the paper tray. This was the first procedure that we weren't expecting as it was somewhat involved and getting the roller back on was even more trickier. Nevertheless, with my wife's help (she has smaller hands) we were able to get the roller back on (after putting the rep on hold for about 10 minutes). At this point, the only interesting thing discovered as to the cause of the paper jam indicator was that the main roller in fact does NOT move when it is supposed to in trying to feed itself the paper. So while we were getting a bit closer to trying to solve the problem, it also seemed as though we were exhausting all of the procedures the rep could offer in trying to figure out now what's causing the roller not to move - that is, until after he put me on hold for yet another 5 minutes and came back with the second surprise which I would have never thought they'd ask me to do over the phone. They asked me to completely remove the right side panel of the laser printer with a screw driver. Once we did that we noticed a plastic arm that was obviously not connected to anything else and moving freely. We had a hard time explaining to the rep exactly what we were looking at, so we asked if we can snap a few photos and send it to him. Having received them, he pointed out to us where this dangling arm was supposed to hook up to and lo and behold, that fixed the problem! The rep was quick to point out that the procedure of opening up the side panel is something they don't recommend the average user to do, but because we were able to take off the main roller and put it back on we unknowingly passed this little test to show we were quite competent to go even further.

Having said all of this, we were quite ecstatic to have a working printer again without having to go through the pain of shipping it back, not to mention we were quite pleased with the price of this model since there is no other HP-branded laser printer of this price that has both network capabilities and double-sided printing!

Although the total duration of the call with HP's customer support was about 2 hours, we couldn't be happier with this product along with their customer support if HP is successful in providing similar levels of support and value to other customers who purchase this item. Hope you enjoyed this review as I tried to be fair and include a lot of details so that it might be beneficial to some people out there who might encounter a similar problem.

Great System
Some of the reviews were unfair to this printer. I bought it a few days ago. It works as intended. It's a good printer for the price, specially considering that even in quiet mode, is not so slow. The double-sided was the reason I purchased this printer (and the network connection.)

Those people talking about the old HP printers are just whi....

Yes, the quality is different... but still is a good printer. I have an OKI c3400 that it's bigger and it looks more robust, but it has been more problematic.

CustomerReviews

Excellent Scanner
The Scan Snap has changed for the better many parts of my office activity. It is terrific for scanning documents and immediately emailing them to one or more other people. I find I send fewer faxes. It also is reducing the amount of paper I have to mess with. I was so pleased with the Scan Snap, that I had my company buy one for our accounts payable person and he is thrilled with it.

Outstanding product
This ScanSnap S1500 is everything that I had hoped for. It makes document scanning a snap (no pun intended). With this item, I believe that I can shrink our paper files by up to 50%. I would recommend this highly.

Great Little Machine
We use one of these at our office and it is really a work horse. Now that I have one at home, I can only say it is a great product, easy to install and easier to use.

Paladin Aerospace
